Practise times tables with your own pet

Pet Rocket is a free game for practising multiplication and division tables. You pick a pet, give it a name and send it to the Moon in a rocket. Every right answer lifts the rocket a little higher. A wrong answer lets it sink.

How it works

  1. Type a name and pick a pet from twenty-five animals.
  2. Choose multiplication (3 脳 4) or division (12 梅 3).
  3. Choose which tables to practise: all tables, tables 6 to 9, your own selection, or the sums that still feel hard.
  4. Press the rocket. You play two rounds of five minutes. After that you see how many sums were right.

What does a child practise?

The game covers the tables from 1 to 10, as multiplication and as division. In the "Practise what I still find hard" mode, the sums you often get wrong come back more often and the ones you already know come back less. A sum you missed comes round again after a few questions.

There are no long lists and no explanations while you play. You see one sum, type the answer and see right away whether the rocket climbs.

Who is it for?

Pet Rocket is made for children of about 7 to 10 who are learning or reviewing their tables, at home or in class. A child can play alone. A parent can look at the statistics to see which tables are still tricky. How well it fits depends on the child and on what school expects.
